This blog will chronicle my journey through motherhood. Like other creative, fiesty, smart and resourceful women, I want to show that just because we're moms, that doesn't mean we have to give up being fun or entrepreneurial. It also doesn't mean we have to give up looking beautiful or wearing heels! So grab your Kate Spade diaper bag, highest pair of Manolo's and join me on this ride!

A True Artist
Picture from Washington PostAs I was walking out of the house this morning, I happened to grab the Food section of the Washington Post. I don't usually read the paper on the Metro but I try to remember to grab the Food section on Wednesday mornings. I usually find a recipe I want to try or a fun article to read. Today was no surprise. There was a great article about ballerina turned cake artist Maggie LaBaugh. She's about to open a store in Old Town and I can't wait to try it. Here's the article!

Kiki and Coco In Paris
Georgetown Patch recently ran my article on Kiki and Coco in Paris. I loved the story behind these two moms, Jess Brown & Stephanie Rausser, that collaborated on this book. I find Paris to be such a magical place and I love the idea of a little girl discovering this city with her beloved doll. As a youngster, you truly see life through rose colored glasses but there's something about Paris that makes all of us...young & old...see life through those same "happy" glasses.

The Uniform
I know most kids hate uniforms but I LOVED mine. I attended private school from Pre-K-12th grade and always wore a uniform. I think they're the best invention since sliced bread. Really. Think about it. You buy 5 shirts and 2 bottoms and you're set. With Fall upon us, I decided I need to reinstate the uniform. I just bought 2 pair of black pants, 1 brown and 1 black skirt. All I need is 5 tops and some fun accesories and I'm SET. My work wardrobe for Fall/Winter is done. I'm hoping for less stressful mornings. We'll see how I do.

Missoni Mayhem

I admit it. I joined the craze! I have to give Target credit because the commercial they have marketing the Missoni line is awesome. I mean, who doesn't want to be a hot mom, walking the streets of Rome with adorable kids and awesome clothes?!
So, although I don't particularly like the Missoni designs, I joined in the craze and bought a few things online. Oh, the funny thing is that they're not for me, they're for my 18 month old daughter. Am I crazy? I bought my toddler a crazy Missoni printed trench coat! And what's worse is that I'm so into this that my dear friend, Carrie, is going to take pictures of AC in her trench coat! Stay tuned b/c the minute that coat comes in the mail, the pics will be posted on this blog!

What Am I Doing?
I have no idea what I'm doing writing a blog. I've avoided this for a long time but realized....WHY NOT?!
I write all these articles, have tons of ideas and I felt I needed a "central location" to document all these accomplishments.
Most of all, I'd really like to have an electronic "baby book" for my daughter, Anna-Cecilia. I want her to be able to read about funny things she's done and all the good times I have with her.
So, with that behind us, I want to explain about the title of my blog. 1.) I thought it was creative and 2.) I want women to know that they can have a highchair and high heels too! I'm not saying you should run after your kids in spiked heels but there's no reason to chuck the Chanels and cuddle with the clogs either. Motherhood should accentuate your femininity not minimize it. I hope this blog serves as a resource for all women with interesting and helpful articles, funny antecdotes and most of all, REAL life comments.
